Kindest Old Woman You’ve EVER Seen
Rest in peace Flo. Your kindness taught Chico, CA to never judge a book by it’s cover.

11/23/13 UPDATE Roger H. Aylworth has written the best account I’ve seen yet about Flo’s life and personality. Please check the full article here. Excerpts below”
"..When news of her death at 83 began to circulate Wednesday, there was a flood of sadness in the social media.
While she was never homeless, Flo was a street person. She dressed in an eclectic collection of clothing and was known for her extravagant application of red lipstick and eyeliner…
Flo and her husband, Roy Hamilton, came to Chico in the 1950s and could often be seen walking all over town until his death in 1986.
She was a "night person," … "She liked to interact with the night people."
Chico police officer Terry Moore agreed… "There’s a street order of law (down there). ‘Don’t (expletive deleted) with Flo.’"
Moore said the street people "just kind of looked after her and took care of her."
Flo was known for saying what she thought…
"She was a very nice lady. Anybody who took a minute to talk to her could not help but like her…"
Is that Flo?
yes, that is Flo. she passed away this morning. she was loved and will be missed. i am so sad to see this website 🙁
That old lady is from a small town in northern calif. CHICO Ca. She also used to wear t unmatched diffrent colored socks.

UPDATE:
The ‘Freaky Old Woman’ has been sighted in Rancho Cucamonga, Kalamazoo, and the Katoomba area of the Belgian Congo.

She’s dead and stuffed with sawdust in this picture.
Her husband is an ametuer taxidermist.
Rumor has it he keeps $400,000 cash inside her and the deed to the house, as well as the pink slip to his Edsil.
Flo was a MUCH loved member of our community. Sadly, we lost her this morning and to my horror I discovered that this picture is floating round the internet with disrespectful and mean comments 🙁

Flo was so kind. I remember talking to her about how she would buy food for the stray cats that lived downtown. She made up names for each. She was a kind human being. She was NOT homeless, or crazy, like most people assumed. She live a very humble existence, she refused to be “categorized” … she should be an inspiration to us all.

Flo definitely would catch the attention of passers by, but for those people that took the time to talk with her they knew her for her kindness and friendliness. Her story was interesting. It was amazing that she would get made up then head out on the town to socialize.

Thanks for the link. I’ll update the post periodically if new stories are published. That was a great one. Please everybody please continue to share.
Back in the early 1990s, I used to work at the Safeway on Mangrove where Flow would come in almost every night. Yes, she was a bit different, but she was also always nice and friendly. I’m glad that there are others who have shown her respect. I hope she lived a happy and fulfilling life. Yes, even after 20 years, Flo was remembered. I hope she is resting with the Good Lord now.
