What Experts Are Saying about Gas Prices

This is “Off the Clock” with Anthony J. Booze.
AJ Booze asks residents in our local area questions they rejected at his real job, 1013 KEMT News Radio. You never know where AJ Booze will pop up off the clock.

Driving around in our local area, I see gas prices lower than we’ve seen in years.  Down almost to $2.00 per gallon. I stopped at several Exxon stations to talk to local experts their thoughts.

I asked Tara Grossman (age 78) what she thought of the $2.13 / gallon price.  “You think it’s cheap?  Child they got you indoctrinated.  Gas was down to 99 pennies eighteen years prior.  Also years before that it was a quarter, a dime, a nickel.  $4.00 a gallon was essentially a burglary.  It needs to retreat down to at least a dollar before I call it cheap.  I barely drive any longer so it doesn’t have any kind of effect on me. My little girls typically drive me and they don’t charge.”

Vernon Stone (Age 33) told me how he was going to use his savings. “I figure I’ll spare about 20 bucks a week.  That won’t even purchase me 3 packs of smokes. At what point are cigarette expenses going to go down?  Some person needs to crash them craps next.”

Lynda Royster (Age 29) had an alternate perspective. “The low gas prices are fantastic.  I hope they keep going down. I am doing a great deal more driving back and forth nowadays. However I have a fear inside me that this is a trap. I feel like this befell me in the recent past. The price when down really low, then abruptly multiplied  from what it was in the past. $8.00 each gallon gas is no doubt next.  Watch.”

I hope Lynda is wrong.  I myself have a plan for the extra savings. For every gallon I buy, I am putting $2.00 away in my college fund. In a couple years, I’m going to go back and get that welding degree.  How long can I really wonder the streets like this?
