3 Proven Ways to Dodge Debt Collectors
The big story in the news today is that one third of American’s are in debt and have debt collectors calling on them.
We’re here to help. Here are 3 legally questionable ways to get them to stop calling – at least temporarily.
1. Get a cheap burner phone like a TracFone. When the debt collectors call your home or cell number, just tell them that the person they are looking for (you) has moved and is no longer at this number. Then give them your burner phone number and never answer it.
2. Look up another person in the phone book who has the same name as you and re-direct the debt collectors to them in the same way as above.
3. Start answering your phone like you are at work. If it’s a debt collector, tell them to stop calling you at work. It is illegal for them to call at work once you let them know your employer will not tolerate it.
